As God leads us into a new season, we must be willing to let go of the things that are keeping us tied to the past. Many people desire the promises of God, yet continue holding on to old habits, old mindsets, and old places of comfort. If we are unwilling to move forward, we cannot fully receive what God has prepared for us.
In Numbers 14:4, the children of Israel said, “Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.” Even after God had delivered them from bondage, they wanted to go back to what was familiar. Egypt represented their past. Sometimes we face the same temptation when God calls us into something new.
1. Step Out in FaithTo walk into your new land, you must step out in faith. Whether it represents a physical move, a new ministry, a new season, or a new calling, it requires trusting God’s promises. Joshua 1:3-4 reminds us that God had already given the land to His people. Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid… for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
God calls us to leave behind what is familiar and step into the unknown with faith and courage. We may not see the entire path ahead, but we can trust the One who is leading us.
2. Embrace the New ThingTransitions require us to leave old seasons behind so we can embrace the new life God has prepared for us. We cannot carry yesterday’s limitations into tomorrow’s blessings. Isaiah 43:19 declares, “Behold, I will do a new thing.” God is always working to bring growth, renewal, and transformation into our lives. Romans 6:4 tells us that we should “walk in newness of life.”
When God opens a new door, we must be willing to release the old habitation and receive the new season He has prepared.
3. Trust God Even When You Cannot See EverythingMany people hesitate to move forward because they want every detail of the future. However, faith does not require complete understanding; it requires complete trust. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Isaiah 30:21 promises that we will hear His voice saying, “This is the way, walk ye in it.”
God will guide us one step at a time. We do not need to know everything about tomorrow. We only need to trust the God who holds tomorrow.
ConclusionGod is calling His people to walk into the new. The past is behind us. The old season has served its purpose. Now is the time to step out in faith, embrace the new thing God is doing, and trust Him to lead the way.
Do not look back toward Egypt. Look forward to the promises of God. Walk boldly into the new season He has prepared for you. |
