“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” 

 — Proverbs 3:6 (ESV) 

We often ask God for direction like we’d ask for a map: show me the route, and I’ll start walking. But that’s not how He leads. God doesn’t hand out blueprints—He sends the Holy Spirit. 

And if we’re honest, that can feel risky. Because the Spirit doesn’t always move in straight lines or perfect timing. Sometimes He leads us into the wilderness before the promise. Sometimes He says wait when we’re ready to go. But this is what Proverbs 3:6 is getting at: 

“In all your ways acknowledge Him...” 

To acknowledge God is to yield. To make space in every corner of your life—your schedule, your ambition, your relationships—for His voice to speak and His Spirit to lead. It’s a life of invitation, where we don’t just ask for God’s help when things fall apart. We ask for His presence before we even take the first step. 

That kind of life isn’t rushed. It’s not self-assured. But it is anchored. Because when you’re walking with the Holy Spirit, you don’t need all the answers—you just need to stay close. 

“...and He will make straight your paths.” 

Not always predictable. Not always fast. But straight. Ordered. Directed. Covered. 

When you let the Spirit lead, your life may not look efficient—but it will be effective. He knows where you’re going. He knows who you’re becoming. And He’s not in a hurry to skip the growth. 

This is the Proverbs 3:6 life: not just believing in God but walking with Him. Step by step. Day by day. Moment by moment. Trusting that when you’re sensitive to His Spirit, you’ll never be lost—even when the road feels unfamiliar. 

So, pause today. Take a breath. Ask the Holy Spirit: 

 “Where are You leading me? Where do You want my attention?” 

Then listen. Obey. Trust that He’s not only speaking—He’s already walking ahead of you. 

Because the only path worth taking is the one He’s making straight.
